LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team defeated Washington College 121-83 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday afternoon. The victory improves the Diplomats' record to 2-2, 1-1 CC, while the Shoremen fall to 2-2, 1-1 CC.
John Zipp led F&M with two individual victories on the day. His first win came in 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.02, finishing just ahead of teammate Jin Hwang, who placed second with a time of 22.71. Zipp picked up his other victory in the 100-yard freestyle when he touched the wall first with a time of 48.33.
Chen won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.05, Denton placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:01.82, and Musselman took the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.28.
The Diplomats finished off the meet strong, winning the 400-yard freestyle relay event with a time of 3:17.75. The team consisted of Chen, Hwang, Zipp and Jake Reingold.
F&M returns to the pool on Nov. 30th when the Diplomats host the F&M Invitational. The first series of races are set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
