GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall picked up a
gold, two silvers and a pair of bronze medals on the second day of
the Centennial Conference Championship Saturday. The medal
collection helped the Diplomats move into second place (449.5)
trailing only Gettysburg (494).
Tim Landon picked of the Diplomats third gold medal of meet with a pool-record 4:09.86 in the 400 IM. F&M placed three more swimmers in the event with Max Blum (9th), Travis Cantania (11th) and Levi Schy (14th).
Jake Reingold added another medal to his collection with a second place finish in the 200 free in 1:42.52. Gettysburg's Matt Libby won the event with a NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:39.78. Reingold teamed with Tommy Bergstrom, Conor Finnegan and David Fell to earn silver in the 800 free relay with an F&M record time of 6:58.58. Gettysburg won the relay while F&M's team of Patrick Musselman, Jim Hwang, Blum and John Zipp finished ninth.
Zach Wilt (52.47) edged teammate David Apple (52.62) to place third in the 100 fly. Dickinson's Jason adams won the race with B cut time of 49.07. Scott Rownd and Mason Wash finished 13th and 14th for F&M.
The Diplomats won two bronze medals in the 100 backstroke. Fell and Finnegan both touched the wall in 53.36 to share third. Dickinson's Jason Adams won with an 'A' cut time of 49.83 and F&M's Jonathen Freire finished 12th.
Bergstrom (1:45.66) and Musselman (1:46.31) finished sixth and eighth in the 200 free and Zipp placed 11th. Fell, Ryan Anella, David Apple and Patrick Musselman placed fourth in the 200 medley relay with a1:37.36. while Finnegan, Catania, Wilt and Reingold placed ninth in1:38.87.
Bergstrom (1:45.66) and Musselman (1:46.31) finished sixth and eighth in the 200 free and John Zipp placed 11th. Ryan Anella eighth in 100 breaststroke with 1:02.23 Carson Bowes 12th and Levi Schy 14th.
Swarthmore (411), Dickinson (370.5) and Ursinus (310) round out the top five in the team standings.
Swimming resumes Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
