F&M NCAA Tournament History: Franklin & Marshall's No. 17 ranked men's soccer team qualified for their sixth-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. During that run, the Diplomats have advanced to four Sweet 16's and a pair of Elite Eights. Overall, F&M has reached the Tournament on nine occasions, and hold an 11-8 record in the Playoffs.
F&M is in search of its second-ever NCAA National Championship, previously earning the Title in 1952. At that time, all 312 colleges and universities that competed in intercollegiate soccer were considered part of one division. There were no playoffs to determine a National Champion. Therefore, a group of coaches essentially crowned the 9-0 Diplomats after their unblemished regular season.
In the Rankings: The Diplomats' continue to be recognized nationally and currently sit at No. 17 according to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III poll - up two spots from last week. A pair of other CC schools appears on the list with Haverford entering the rankings at No. 15 and Johns Hopkins dropping to No. 25.

How F&M Got Here: The Diplomats received one of 19 Pool C bids into the 62-team NCAA Field after finishing the 2018 season with a 13-3-3 overall record. F&M went 1-1 in the Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament last weekend, downing No.13 Johns Hopkins in the Semifinals before dropping a 3-2 2OT heartbreaker to Haverford in the Finals.
Making History: F&M's sixth-consecutive NCAA bid is a record streak amongst Centennial Conference (CC) teams.
A Look at the Pod: Western Connecticut At. is advancing to its second-consecutive NCAA Tournament after receiving a Pool A Automatic Qualifier with the Colonials' 2-1 OT win over Keene St. in the Little East Conference (LEC) Championship.
Eastern also claimed a Pool A bid with a 3-0 win over King's in last Saturday's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championship. The Eagles last advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2016, making it to the Second Round where Eastern fell to Oneonta St. by a 2-1 2OT score.
Mary Washington claimed the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over St. Mary's (Md.) to garner a Pool A bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles earned a spot in the field for the second straight year and 11th time overall.
Ticket Prices: Tickets will cost $6 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens, while children ages 3-12 will cost $2. Please note that pets are not permitted at Tylus Field during NCAA play.

Connor Whitacre landed on the First Team, while Ugo Okolie, Ryan Fincher, A.J. Kopacz, and Ryan Corr garnered Second Team honors. Jim Connolly also received Honorable Mention.

Spreading the Wealth: As a team, the Diplomats place 62nd in the nation in assists per game with a 1.79 average.
Defending the Home Turf: F&M is 10-0-2 in its last 12 overall games at Tylus Field, an unbeaten streak that dates back to Oct. 3, 2017.

Closing in on 200: In the midst of his 17th season at the helm of F&M's program, head coach Dan Wagner enters the week just five wins shy of reaching 200 career wins.
He holds a 195-85-41 overall record and became the program's all-time wins leader in 2012. Only four other coaches in the history of the CC reached the 200-victory milestone, with the leader being Johns Hopkins' Matt Smith with 240.
