Series History: Franklin & Marshall takes on NJAC-foe William Paterson for the first time since 2002 and just the fourth time in series history this Wednesday. The Diplomats hold a slight 2-1 edge and are 1-0 on the road against the Pioneers. 

F&M clashes with Centennial Conference (CC) rival Haverford on Saturday for the 71st all-time contest. The Diplomats won the last home meeting in the series, a 1-0 overtime victory in 2016 that saw Robert Maze notch the 94th-minute winner.

In the Rankings: The Diplomats' strong start to 2018 continues to be recognized nationally with a No. 12 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III poll. F&M moved up one spot from last week's standings.

Last Week: The Diplomats went 1-0-1 last week with a commanding 5-1 win over Elizabethtown on Wednesday to bring the Smith-Herr Boot back to Lancaster, before opening Centennial Conference (CC) play with a 0-0 2OT tie against Muhlenberg on the road Saturday.

Against Elizabethtown, Connor Whitacre (37th minute), Ryan Fincher (48th minute), Alex Lalovic (65th minute), Dallen Moore (74th minute), and Jack Brandt (85th minute) notched the F&M markers.

Against Muhlenberg, the Diplomats controlled the overtime periods but were unable to get on the scoreboard. Overall, the Mules held a slight 10-9 shots advantage for the game, but F&M commanded corners at 8-4.

Among the Leaders: Jim Connolly sits atop the CC leaders in assists with five, while his seven points are tied for sixth. Lalovic is tied for third in points with eight, while his four goals are tied for second. A.J. Kopacz is close behind in goals and enters the week tied for six with three during his first-year campaign. 

In net, Christopher Amoruso's .857 save percentage ranks third, while his 0.46 goals against average is third. 

As a team, the Diplomats places second in goals scored per game with a 2.67 average, while F&M's 0.85 goals against average is fourth.

Record Book Watch: Ugo Okolie continues to climb the ranks of the program's career assists leaders and now places sixth with 17. Brandon Corday '07 leads the program with 25. Fincher and Connolly are close behind in 12th place with 14 helpers each in their careers. 

Robert Maze is 10th in career game-winning goals with four as Beaver also tops that list with 20 in his career. 

Goalkeeper Christopher Amoruso broke the top-10 for career shutouts with seven. Zach Zamek '10 holds the record with 25. 

Spreading the Wealth: As a team, the Diplomats place 27th in the nation in total assists with 15. SUNY-Maritime leads Division III teams with 26 helpers. Individually, Connolly placed fourth among all players with his five assists.

Impressive Start: The Diplomats' 5-0-1 record to open 2018 is F&M's best start to a year since 2015 when the Diplomats began the season at a remarkable 14-0. F&M is one of just 19 teams in Division III that have yet to surrender a loss. 

Defending the Home Turf: F&M is 6-0-1 in its last seven games at Tylus Field, an unbeaten streak that dates back to Oct. 3, 2017. The Diplomats haven't dropped a CC game at home since Oct. 31, 2015, holding a 7-0-2 record in their previous nine Conference contests in Lancaster.
