Series History: The annual F&M-Elizabethtown rivalry game returns to Tylus Field on Wednesday for the Battle of the Smith-Herr Boot.  Lately, the series has been lopsided in the Diplomats' favor with the last three contests all going F&M's way. The Diplomats have not lost to the Blue Jays in Lancaster since 2009. 

Centennial Conference (CC) competition begins on Saturday at home against Muhlenberg.  F&M's win streak sits at three straight, with the all-time series in the Diplomats' favor at 33-29-4. The Mules haven't won in Lancaster since 2009.

Last Game Against Etown: F&M shutout Elizabethtown by a 2-0 score on the road last Sept. 14th. Connor Whitacre (56th minute) and Ugo Okolie (89th minute) notched both of the Diplomats' scores. 

Goalkeeper Dave Reingold (4-0-2) recorded his third-straight shutout after registering five saves, with four coming in the opening half. Shots belonged to F&M at 14-9 as the Diplomats dominated by a 13-3 margin in the final 45 minutes of action.

Last Game Against Muhlenberg: Whitacre came up with a clutch 2OT goal to give No. 14 F&M a thrilling 3-2 2OT victory over Muhlenberg last Oct. 1. Tonelli (31st minute) and Alex Bilodeau (54th minute) recorded the Diplomats' other tallies.

Last Week: A pair of non-conference tilts last weekend in Lexington, Va. resulted in a 1-0-1 record after a 2-1 2OT victory against Randolph on Saturday and a 2-2 2OT tie against No. 24 W&L on Sunday.

Against Randolph, Ryan Corr scored in the 10th minute to lead F&M to a dramatic win. Shots narrowly favored the Diplomats at 13-10, as well as corners at 9-7.

Trailing by a 2-1 score in the final minutes of regulation against No. 24 W&L, a Janse Schermerhorn cross into the box careened off a General defender for the own goal to force overtime. The shot count favored W&L by an 18-10 margin, including a 5-2 edge in the overtime periods. Corners were also led by the Generals at 10-4. Ryan Fincher and Jim Connolly led F&M with two shots each.

In the Rankings: F&M dropped to No. 22 in the United Soccer Coaches poll after being ranked at No. 6 in the preseason. Haverford lept to No. 8 as the only other CC Institution represented in the rankings. Tufts retained the No. 1 spot.

Tylus Unbeaten Streak: The Diplomats are 7-0-1 in their last eight contests at Tylus Field, dating back to Sept. 24, 2016. 

Among the Leaders (CC): Connolly's four assists lead all CC men's soccer players, while Tonelli's three goals are tied for fifth. Each player totaled six points so far on the season, marks that places them tied for fifth in the Conference.

Jenkins is sixth in goals against average (0.78), tied for fourth in saves (13), and is sixth in save percentage (.813).

Among the Leaders (NCAA): As a team, F&M ranks seventh among all DIII teams in corner kick opportunities per game with an average of nine. Bowdoin leads the nation with 13.5. 

Record Book Watch: Tonelli has nine game-winning goals in his career, a mark that ranks third in program history. Ben Beaver '13 leads the way with 20. The senior forward also has 20 career goals, which ties for 14th on the all-time list, while his 43 career points stand alone in 18th. Beaver tops each category with 47 and 104, respectively.
