Eight Named All-CC; Keating Nabs Offensive Player of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. - Eight members of the Franklin & Marshall men's lacrosse team were named to the 2019 All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Luke Keating, Kevin Mollihan, Jarrett Donaghy all earned First Team honors, George Briggs and Ellis Llewellyn landed on the Second Team, while A.J. Rigsby and Jack Beatty received Honorable Mention. The eight selections are tied for the most in the Todd Cavallaro tenure.

Keating is the third consecutive Franklin & Marshall player, and fourth overall, to earn Offensive Player of the Year honors, joining Steve Welsh (2005), Sean Rogers (2017), and Kevin Mollihan (2018).

Keating (Garden City, N.Y. / Garden City) leads the Centennial in points (97) and assists (41) while placing fifth in goals (56). Keating has scored a goal in each of F&M's 17 contests, including a career-best seven against Haverford on March 30th. Earlier in the season, The sophomore attacker became only the 14th member throughout program history to reach the 100-goal plateau for his career.

Mollihan (Ridgewood, N.J. / Ridgewood) is second in the CC in goals (65) as he earned a spot on the First Team for the third consecutive year. The junior attacker is third among Conference players in points (81) and he has scored four or more goals in 11 contests this year. Mollihan has also chipped in on the defensive end with 28 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.

Donaghy (West Chester, Pa. / Malvern Prep) garnered the third All-CC accolade of his career. The junior midfielder places fourth on the team with 37 ground balls, while also causing 11 turnovers on the year. Donaghy has been a strong contributor on the offensive end as well with five goals and seven assists. 

O'Connor (Rye, N.Y. / Iona Prep.) earned a spot on the First Team for the second year in a row. The senior long-stick midfielder has started all 17 of F&M's games, leading the team and placing second in the CC with 32 caused turnovers. His 57 groundballs are good for second on the Diplomats as he recorded a season-high of nine against Gettysburg on March 27th.

Briggs (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) landed on the All-CC team for the third time in his career. His 36 assists on the season place second among both F&M and Centennial players as he has started in each of F&M's 17 contests. The senior midfielder registered a season-high five helpers against Washington & Lee on March 2nd and he enters the NCAA Tournament just one shy of reaching 100 for his career. 

Llewellyn (Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill) collected his third-career All-CC accolade. Appearing in all 17 of F&M's games, Llewellyn places second on the Diplomats in caused turnovers (24) and is third in ground balls (46). He has tallied six goals on the year, including a season-high two against Messiah on March 9th.

Rigsby (Dublin, Ohio / Bishop Watterson) is fourth on the Diplomats with 32 goals and fifth in points with 36. The sophomore midfielder has tallied three or more goals on seven occasions, including a season-high five against Washington on April 20th. 

Beatty (Darien, Conn. / Darien) ranks third in the Centennial with 155 faceoff wins on the year as he landed on the All-CC team for the first time in his career. The sophomore faceoff specialist leads F&M in groundballs with 76, a mark which places sixth in the CC, including a season-high 12 against Elizabethtown on April 5th. 

The Diplomats received one of eight pool-c at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament after ending the regular season with a 12-5 record and faces Stevenson today at 4:00 p.m. F&M won the Centennial regular season and earned the top seed in the CC Tournament before falling to eventual champions Ursinus.
