LANCASTER, Pa. -- Luke Keating scored seven goals and handed out three assists to lead No. 19 Franklin & Marshall to an 18-12 win over Haverford in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. F&M improved to 7-3, 3-0 CC, while the Fords fell to 3-7, 1-2 CC.
After an early goal by the Fords, F&M netted two straight for a 2-1 lead at 8:30 in the first. Haverford tied the game at 2-2, before F&M rattled off three straight and a late goal by the Fords made it 5-3 heading into the second.
F&M went ahead 6-3 early in the second, and the Fords answered with a three-goal spurt and tied the game at 6-6 with 8:13 remaining in the quarter. F&M countered with a three-goal run of their own and took at 9-6 into the break.
Two scores from Blake Target started the third for an 11-6 F&M lead. Haverford struck at 9:33 and F&M responded with a 5-1 run for a 16-8 heading into the final frame. The Fords outscored F&M 4-2 in the final quarter of action for the 18-12 final.
Luke Keating ended with seven goals and three helpers to pace the offense, and Kevin Mollihan tallied four goals. Tucker McBride had two goals with two assists, A.J. Rigsby struck once with two goals and Blake Target found the net three times. Aaron Abrams had a score, while Ellis Llewellyn, Tommy O'Connor, Jarrett Donaghy, and Spencer Hall had an assist each.
Luke Mutterer improved to 3-0 with eight stops in the cage.
F&M outshot the Fords 57-37, held a 41-34 advantage in ground balls and went 10-for-13 in clear attempts.
The Diplomats return to action next Friday when F&M host Elizabethtown at 7:00 p.m.
