LANCASTER, Pa. – Kevin Mollihan scored seven goals and handed out an assist in Franklin & Marshall's 19-6 thrashing of Lebanon Valley in men's lacrosse action Wednesday evening. The Diplomats improved to 1-1, while the Dutchmen fell to 0-1.
F&M struck early and often, netting the first three goals of the game. After an LVC score, the Diplomats rattled off three more, before the Dutchmen snuck one in at the end of the first to make it 6-2. It was all F&M in the second with the Diplomats scoring five unanswered to take an 11-2 lead into the break.
Six straight to start the third extended F&M's 11-0 run and gave the Diplomats a 17-2 lead and the Diplomats added one after a Dutchmen score for an 18-3 lead heading into the final frame. Playing against the non-starters, LVC outscored F&M 3-1 in fourth, with the Diplomats tallying the last point of the game.
Kevin Mollihan had seven goals with an assist on 14 shots and added three ground balls, while Luke Keating had three goals with three assists. Blake Target struck three times with two helpers, while both A.J. Rigsby and Will DeMuth each had a goal and an assist. Sam Garges, Eddy Madden, and Aaron Abrams each scored a goal, while Tucker McBride had two helpers and George Briggs along with Spencer Hall both had an assist.
F&M outshot LVC 52-22, held a 44-23 edge on ground balls and went 17-for-22 in clear attempts.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday when F&M hosts Susquehanna at 4:00 p.m.
