LANCASTER, Pa. – Harry Rice and Kevin Mollihan combined for 10 goals to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 20-13 win over Washington in men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 11-2, 5-1 CC while the Shoremen dropped to 8-5, 3-3 CC.

F&M jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, before Washington matched with two of their own and tied the game at 2-2 with 6:11 left in the first. The Diplomats countered with two straight and took the lead for good, 4-2, at the end of the first. 

Washington came within a goal, 4-3, early in the second, but F&M scored four and took an 8-3 lead at 6:10. The Shoremen put two through to come within three, 8-5, and F&M netted the last goal of the half and took a 9-5 lead at the break.

The Shoremen came within two, 9-7, early in the third, but F&M went on a 5-1 run for a 14-9 lead with 2:28 left in the third. Washington snuck one through with just nine ticks on the clock to make it a five-point, 14-9, game heading into the fourth.

Three straight from F&M made it 17-9 early in the fourth and after a Washington goal, the Diplomats put a pair through for a 19-10 lead. Washington closed out the game with a 3-1 spurt.

Harry Rice and Kevin Mollihan both finished with five goals and one assist and Luke Keating scored four with one assist. A.J. Rigsby had a hat trick, while Sean Rogers tallied a goal with three helpers. Tucker McBride and George Briggs each had a score and an assist, and Ronan Garcia assisted on a goal.

Andrew Fine and Rogers both caused two turnovers and Andrew Rose went 25-for-37 from the X and ended with 11 ground balls. Thomas Moore improved to 4-0 with five saves.

F&M outshot Washington 61-30, held a 50-23 edge in ground balls and went 17-for-17 on clear attempts.
