LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 11 Franklin & Marshall cruised to a 17-3 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 9-2, 3-1 CC while the Green Terror dropped to 6-7, 1-4 CC.
The game was never in doubt as the Diplomats jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter. F&M's defense kept the shutout going in the second as the offense tacked on six more to give F&M an 11-0 lead at the break.
F&M tallied the first three goals of the third for a 14-0 lead, before the Green Terror finally scored with two straight to make it 14-2. The Diplomats closed out the quarter with two unanswered and took a 16-2 lead into the final frame. F&M went up 17-2 early in the fourth and the Green Terror managed the final score at 12:17.
Sean Rogers finished with three goals and handed out six assists to pace the offense, while Kevin Mollihan had five goals with two assists and Luke Keating finished with two goals and four helpers. Read Ziegler struck twice and Ellis Llewellyn along with Tucker McBride, Harry Rice, Kyle Scheuerle and John Sommi all ended with a goal. Sam Garges, Jarrett Donaghy, George Briggs and Tucker McBride all handed out an assist.
Tommy O'Connor caused three turnovers and added four ground balls and Ellis Llewellyn had three turnovers as well. Thomas Moore picked up the win in net with six saves and improved to 2-0 with the win.
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Ursinus for a 3:00 p.m. game.
