LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall first-year Jared Berlin was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Athlete of the Week for men's golf announced by the league office on Tuesday. The honor is second for Berlin this season.
Berlin (Los Angeles, Calif. / Buckley School) picked up a first, second and sixth place in three events over a seven-day span. Berlin and Justin Lankler tied for first after two rounds at the Ted Keller Invitational last Monday and Tuesday. However, Berlin recorded a birdie on the first playoff hole to pick up medalist honors. He ended with a two-day of 144 after firing rounds of 71 and 73 and picking up five birdies over two rounds.
Berlin shot a two-day total of 142 to lead Franklin & Marshall to a second place finish at the Revolutionary Collegiate Classic on Sunday. Berlin shaved four strokes off his round one total of 73 with a 69 in Monday's round and tied Goucher's Julian Gonzalez. The tiebreaker was the back-nine total and Gonzalez's 33, just beat out Berlin's 35, to secure medalist honors. He ended his week by tying for sixth at the F&M Invitational on Monday. F&M returns to action on Saturday at the two-day Marywood Invitational.
