DELAWARE, Pa. – Three Diplomats placed in the top-10 to lead Franklin & Marshall to a second-place finish at the Montgomery Cup hosted by Rosemont College at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. F&M had a two-round total of 573 (285-288), just a stroke shy of York (282-290-572), while Allegheny won the team title with a 565 (287-278).
Jared Berlin led the way for F&M with a four-under 140 after firing rounds of 69 and 71 on the par-72, 6,805-yard course. York's Casey Leebrick took medalist honors with an eight-under 136 (67-69).
Seiichiro Nakai tied for seventh at a one-under 143 with rounds of 71 and 72, while Justin Lankler tied for 10th with an even-par 142, after carding a 72 on both days. Charles Mitchell had a 146 (73-73) for 15th and Steve Nicholas ended at 148 (74-74).
F&M returns to action on Oct. 8 when the Diplomats travel to the two-day Ted Keller Invitational.
