LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Ben Mitchell and Justin Lankler garnered a spot on the 2018 Division III Ping Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Mitchell was named to the team for the second year in a row while Lankler earned the honor for the first time.
Mitchell (Roslyn, N.Y. / Roslyn) continues his run of accolades after placing first at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships, landing Player of the Year honors, while leading every round and ending the Tournament with a 212 (67-72-73) for his first CC Crown. The senior totaled a 74.6 stroke average through 14 rounds during the regular season, which was good for second in the conference, and secured top-10 finishes in six events.
Lankler (Westfield, N.J. / Westfield) was fourth in the conference with a 76.3 stroke average through 15 rounds in regular season action and earned a top-10 spot in five out of the eight events he took part in. The sophomore finished third at CC Champs with a score of 225 (73-72-80).
F&M continued its unparalleled dominance after securing its fifth straight CC Title and 15th overall Conference Championship. The Diplomats earned their 13th NCAA appearance, finishing in 28th place out of 42 teams.
