Diplomats Finish 28th at NCAA Tournament 


GREENSBORO, N.C. — Franklin & Marshall ended with a two-round total of 621 (308-313) and finished 28th at the 2018 NCAA Men's Golf Tournament held at the Grandover Resort. The Diplomats missed the 18-team cut as their season comes to a close. Guilford leads the tournament of 42 teams with a 578.

Ben Mitchell led the Diplomats with a 150, finishing at 75 in both rounds. He had three birdies in round two with a one-over 37 on the front, and a two-over 38 on the back. Steve Nicholas fired rounds of 77-79 for a 156 and a 113th place finish on the par-72, 6,780-yard course. Justin Lankler had an 80 to go along with a 77 and tied for 124th at 157. 

Seiichiro Nakai was consistent with a 79 on both rounds. He had a 158 and tied for 134th in the 217-player field. Kevin McGloin had an 84 in the final round and ended at 163. 

The Diplomats finished the season with their 13th NCAA appearance in program history after securing their fifth straight Centennial Conference (CC) Crown and 15th overall Conference Championship.
