MACUNGIE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall and Ben Mitchell remain at the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the 2018 Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Golf Championship. The Diplomats finished the day at 295 and head into the final round with a 581, 13 strokes ahead of McDaniel (594).
Mitchell had a 72 after picking up three birdies on the front nine for a two-round total of 139 on the par-71, 6,534-yard Brookside Country Club Course. Justin Lankler moved up three spots to second after finishing the day with a 72 and is seven stroke behind Mitchell at 146.
Steve Nicholas shot up five spots and is tied for fourth in the 35-player field. Nicholas had four birdies and carded 74 with a two-round score of 148. Seiichiro Nakai had a 79 today and is 12th at 151 and Kevin McGloin shaved three of his round one total and sits in 22nd at 157 (80-77).
The final round is set for tomorrow, where F&M — the four-time defending champions — will look for an unprecedented 10th Centennial crown, and ninth in the last 11 years.
