Tompos Named GCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall head men's golf coach Andy Tompos was named the 2016 Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division III Middle Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. The all-region honor is the second consecutive for Tompos and the second Coach of Year Award this season after being named the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year for the fourth time. 

Tompos has guided F&M to unparalleled success in his nine seasons at the helm. F&M won its third consecutive Centennial Conference (CC) Championship and seventh in 10 years, tied for 12that the NCAA Championships, and placed two individuals in the NCAA top 10 to conclude the Diplomats' banner year and further solidified their place as one of the nation's top programs.  

Tompos has guided F&M to six CC Championships since taking over the program in 2008 with F&M participating in six NCAA Championships, finishing as high as 12th. Five individual CC Champions were crowned during his tenure and four players earned All-America status since 2009.
