LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall is set to defend its Centennial Conference (CC) Title this weekend when the 23rd annual men's golf championship tees off Friday at the Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa. F&M enters the three day, 54-hole tournament as the two-time defending champions and is looking for an unprecedented eighth Centennial crown, and seventh in the last nine years.
Last year, F&M won the CC Championship with a record-breaking 30-stroke victory over second place finisher McDaniel (912) at the Dupont Country Club. The Diplomats three-day total of 882 reset their own championship record set last season for the lowest score in tournament history. The Diplomats placed all five golfers in the top-10, including Robert Svigals' tournament victory.
The Diplomats, ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic region, have posted a 305.00 stroke average on the season with three tournament victories (PSU-Harrisburg, F&M Fall, Kravetz). Junior Brad Lankler tops the Conference with a 74.46 average and has four top-10 finishes in seven events. Junior Stephen Colodny is fourth at 75.93 and senior Daniel Furman comes in at No. 7 at 76.80. Junior Jon Meissner and freshman Jon Granville will make their first CC Tournament appearance and round out the F&M championship team of five.
GoDiplomats.com will have scores and recaps at the end of each day of action and live results will be available here.
