Diplomats Win Spring Invite; Lead Nation in Tournament Wins

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team continued its impressive season by winning the F&M Spring Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club Monday afternoon. The 21st-ranked Diplomats have won eight tournaments this season, which leads the nation among all three divisions.

F&M's Blue Team finished with a three-over 287 for the tournament title followed by Cabrini (298) and Messiah (304). The F&M White Team finished tied for fourth with Moravian at 306 in the 17-team tournament.

Three players finished in the top five for F&M with Daniel Furman leading the way at a three-under 68. Stephen Colodny, and Brad Lankler both carded 70 and tied for third on the par-71, 6,450-yard course while Al El Kordi-Hubbard took medalist honors with a six-under 65.

Christopher Gabriele turned in the third best score for the Blue Tem at 74 and tied for eighth while Robert Svigals took 15th with a 75. Henry Richards finished at 77 to round out the team's score.

Benjamin Mitchell shot 76 for 18th and Steve Altieri along with Jon Meissner both finished with an 80 for the White Team. William Swanson came in at an 85 as the fifth member of the white squad.

F&M returns to action on Friday at the three day Centennial Conference Championship held at the duPont Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware. The Diplomats will look to win their seventh CC Title, sixth in the last eight and 13th overall conference championship this weekend.
