PALMERTON, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall defeated host Messiah for first place in a field of 17 teams at the Messiah Falcon Classic on Tuesday at Blue Ridge Country Club. The two teams tied, but the Diplomats won by matching of cards of the fifth players. Results were not made available until late Wednesday afternoon.
The Diplomats and Falcons each totaled 313 strokes, while Albright (316), York (317) and Penn State-Harrisburg (321) rounded out the top five.
Cameron Warner was the top F&M finisher in third place with round of two-over 75 to fall just two strokes shy of both Messiah's Matt Burkhart and York's Kevin Long. Danny Liebowitz also found his way into the top 10 with a 77 to tie for fifth.
F&M returns to its home course to host the Bent Creek Invitational on Monday, Sept. 26 at 12:30 pm.
