DANIELSVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men won the Moravian Spring Invitational at Woodstone Golf Club on Thursday afternoon. The victory was the Diplomats second invitational championship won in the 2009-2010 season. F&M captured Moravian's Fall Invitational back in September.
Cameron Warner continued his solid start to the spring with a second place finish. Warner matched the medalist, Messiah's Matt Burkhart, with a 74. The Falcon earned the individual medal on the match of cards. The pair was two shots over par and held two shots on the field.
While Warner watched Burkhart walk off with the medal, he helped his team walk away with the team trophy by a single stroke on the strength of a team total of 310. The difference came with the team's four-men. The Diplomats' got an 82 from Rob Moriarty, who wrapped his day in a nine-way tie for 24th place in the field of 96. Messiah's No. 4, Ben Horst, finished a stroke behind in a nine-way tie for 33rd.
