Diplomats Shutout Eagles in CC Opener

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall scored early and often enroute to a 54-0 victory over Juniata in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon. F&M improved to 2-0, 1-0 CC, while the Eagles fell to 0-2, 0-1 CC.

First Quarter (F&M 13 | JC – 0)
F&M scored on both their first quarter possessions for an early 13-0 lead. Keshon Farmer's 3-yard rush at 10:55 finished off an 8-play, 74-yard drive to give F&M the early 7-0 lead. The Diplomats finished off their second drive of the quarter when Garrett Perschy raced in from 18-yards out to capped a 12-play, 71-yard drive to put F&M up 13-0 at the end of the first.

Second Quarter (F&M 37 | JC – 0)
The Diplomats continued to dominate in the second and came away with points on every drive. Jack Rodenberger's 26-yard field goal made with 16-0 at 13:21 and Joe Hartley-Vittoria had a 1-yard plunge to put the Diplomats up 23-0 at 8:27. Perschy struck again at 2:23 for a 37-0 lead and Kevin Lammers found Tim Walter on a reverse pass to make it 37-0 at the break.

Third Quarter (F&M 44 | JC – 0)
Eric Harris raced in from three yards to make it 44-0 at 7:02 to close out a 12-play, 52-yard drive that took 6:18 off the clock.

Fourth Quarter (F&M 54 | JC – 0)
Murray McCarthy kicked an 18-yard field goal in the fourth and a Mark Himmelsback's touchdown with 6:30 left make it 54-0.

Final Numbers
F&M outgained Juniata 512-104 yards of total offense, holding the Eagles to just 85 yards through the air and 19 on the ground.

Garrett Perschy completed 12-of-16 passes for 184 yards and added 50 yards on the ground with two scores. Tim Walter caught six passes for 107 yards and a score, while Eric Harris picked up 59 rushing yards with a score and Keshon Farmer ended with 47 yards on nine carries and a touchdown. Dante Wilson racked up 48 yards on the ground, while Joe Hartley-Vittoria and Mark Himmelsbach both had a touchdown.

Seb Silva-Muniz led the defense with four stops, including half a sack. Peter Orio was in on a sack and both Jackson Hale, Charlie Coslett and Marcellus Reid ended the day with a sack. Nick Leone had two pass break ups and three stops as well.

Jack Rodenberger averaged 60.4 yards on seven kickoffs, with four going in as touchbacks and connected on a 26-yard field goal with five extra points.
