CARLISLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall scored early and often enroute to a 35-14 victory over Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon. F&M improved to 5-2, 4-2 CC, while the Red Devils fell to 2-5, 2-4 CC.
F&M took an early 7-0 lead five minutes into the game when Tanner Erisman found Kevin Lammers for a 7-yard score to cap off a 5-play, 71-yard drive. The Diplomats made it 14-0 with a little less than two minutes to play in the first. Keshon Farmer finished off a 12-play, 69-yard drive when he took it in from a yard out.
Kevin Lammers put F&M up 21-0 with a 15-yard spurt at 10:15 in the second and the Diplomats tacked on seven more just before the break. F&M drove 69 yards in 1:10 and Erisman connected with K.J. Pretty with 42 ticks on the clock for a 28-0 score at the break.
The Diplomats scored again late in the third when Erisman dove in from a yard out to put F&M up 35-0 with four minutes left in the third. Dickinson was able to tack on two scores late in the fourth for the 35-14 final.
Tanner Erisman completed 17-of-30 passes for 208 yards and two scores and added another touchdown on the ground. Keshon Farmer broke the century mark with 101 yards on 15 rushes and a score while K.J. Pretty hauled in five passes for 97 yards with a touchdown and Timothy Walter ended with 67 yards on six grabs.
Sebastian Silva-Muniz led the defense with nine tackles (6 solo) and a forced fumble, Bobby McDevitt ended with eight stops (5s) and an interception, while Stephon Smith, Marlen Fenstermacher and Thomas Downs all had five stops.
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats host Moravian for TRUE BLUE Weekend (Homecoming & Family) at 4:00 p.m.
