LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall football players, families and the coaching staff volunteered at the Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp held at Lafayette College last weekend. The F&M football program had 61 volunteers at the camp and raised $10,000 through their work at the food tent. Overall, the camp raised more than $130,000 for pediatric brain tumor research and cancer services.
Those donations support the foundation's mission of funding pediatric brain tumor research and patient services and assisting families living with the disease. Since it's inception, LFG has raised $2.3 million for pediatric research, patient services, and families.
The camp at Lafayette just completed its 15th annual event for student-athletes entering grades nine through 12. More than 1,800 players from nearly 400 high schools across 21 states and Canada received instruction in a variety of offensive and defensive skills from more than 360 college coaches from around the country.
