F&M Competes at Kerr Cup Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall men's rowing closed out the 2019 regular season in style with the Diplomats' Varsity 8+ boat securing second place in the Petite Final at Saturday's 53rd annual Kerr Cup Regatta.

A boat of Giuseppe Inglima (coxswain), Joel Cannon (8), Lukas Grattan (7), Harris Karlin (6), Seth Sherwood (5), Christian Jones (4), Steven Nicodemo (3), Ngoun Lay (2), and Brandon Schneider (1) landed in the Petite Final after earning fifth place in their preliminary heat with a time of 6:49.62. 

The Diplomats followed with a strong performance in their next race, earning second place out of five boats at 7:19.75. Washington College claimed first with a time of 7:07.36.

Meredith Cooney (coxswain), Dylan Smith (4), Muhammad Ahmed Cheema (3), Tim Lian (2), and Carlos Ortiz (1) also took to the water for F&M in the Varsity 4+ event but were unable to advance out of their preliminary heat. The Diplomats registered a fourth-place finish in the event with a time of 7:55.33.

Saturday's competition marked an end to the Diplomats' regular-season as F&M returns to the water on Saturday, April 27th at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships in Lewisberry, Pa.
