LANCASTER, Pa. — Two members from the Franklin & Marshall men's basketball team were named to the All-Centennial Team announced by the league office on Tuesday. Senior J.C. McGrath earned a spot on the second team for the second year in a row, and sophomore Justin Kupa received All-CC honorable mention for the first time in his career.
McGrath (Newark, Del. / Munich International School) lands All-CC team for the third consecutive season, after earning second-team honors last season and honorable mention in his sophomore year. The senior forward finished second in the conference in rebounds (8.7 per game) and double-doubles (8), and showed great defensive ability with top ten finishes in steals and blocks. With double-figure finishes in 17 of his 26 appearances, including a 16 point and 16 rebound effort against Neumann (1/3/19), McGrath continued to dominate the low-post throughout his final season.
Kupa (Mt. Laurel, N.J. / Lenape) was selected as an All-CC honorable mention after an explosive sophomore season, in which he more than quadrupled his freshman scoring average. His 14.8 points per game was good for seventh in the conference and he finished sixth in steals (1.5 per game). Kupa's miraculous buzzer-beater to finish off No. 8 Swarthmore on the road (12/1/18) was among his many highlights this season. He finished with 20 or more points six times, including a career-high 27 at Johns Hopkins (1/24/19) and 22 in the William Marshall Tip Off Tournament against Albright (11/11/18).
F&M finished the year with a 15-11 record and a 9-9 mark in conference action.
