Rowan, an 87-79 winner over Keene State in the opening game, in tomorrow's championship game at 3:00 p.m. Keene State and Delaware Valley will play at 1:00 p.m. in the consolation game.
F&M (7-3) opened the game with an 8-3 run and led 13-9 at 12:11, before going on a 6-1 spurt for a nine-point, 19-10, edge with 9:40 left in the first. The Aggies (6-5) slowly chipped away and came within a point, 20-19, at 6:33.
The Diplomats quickly went up five, but Delaware Valley stayed close and tied the game at 28-28, with 51 ticks on the clock. The teams traded buckets and Mike Rice finished off a Les Thomas pass with three-pointer to give F&M a 33-30 lead at the break.
Five straight from F&M put the Diplomats up 38-30 four minutes into the second half, and a triple by Justin Kupa at 13:15 made it 45-34. After the Aggies came within seven, 45-38, F&M countered with a 9-1 run and took a 54-39 lead with a little less than 10 minutes to play.
The Diplomats held a double-digit advantage over the next four minutes, and after Delaware Valley came within 10, the Diplomats scored six unanswered for a 16-point, 64-48, lead with five minutes left to play. F&M controlled the final minutes and stayed out front by double-figures the majority of the game.
F&M outshot the Aggies 51-39-percent and had a slight 36-33 edge on the glass.
