LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall cruised to a 79-53 win over Gettysburg in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Thursday evening. The Diplomats improved to 15-3, 9-2 CC while the Bullets dropped to 5-13, 3-8 CC.
After a 6-4 Gettysburg lead early in the game, F&M went on a 20-2 run over the next seven minutes to go ahead 24-8 with 10:08 left in the half. Gettysburg came within 11, 29-18, but F&M countered with a 15-2 spurt and took a 44-20 lead into the break.
F&M continued its dominance in the second half and quickly went up 30 points, 59-29, with 12:46 left to play. F&M held at least a 25-point edge the remainder of the game and led by as many as 33 points in the final frame.
Federici ended with 21 points on 8-for-17 shooting while McGrath netted 13 to go along with six rebounds. Matt Redhead chipped in 11 off the bench and Matthew Tate ended with seven points and five steals.
F&M outshot the Bullets 54-41-percent and held a 34-28 edge on the glass.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M travels to McDaniel for a 1:00 p.m. game.
