LANCASTER, Pa. – Five players scored in double figures to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 93-46 victory over Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action on Tuesday evening. The Diplomats improved to 8-5, 2-4 CC while the Mules dropped to 7-4, 3-3 CC.
The game was never in doubt as F&M jumped out to an early 21-8 lead on an Ignas Slyka triple eight minutes into the game. J.C. McGrath kicked off a 22-0 run that put the Diplomats up 48-13 and F&M went into the break with a 48-16 lead.
F&M continued to dominate in the second and increased their lead to 66-32 at 11:02 in the second. Lior Levy made it 77-39 with six minutes left to play as the Diplomats cruised to the victory.
Slyka led all scorers with 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting. He added nine rebounds and dished out five assists. Brandon Federici netted 19 with five steals and Hunter Eggers chipped in 16. Jared Wright had 11 with four helpers and three steals and Daniel Osley reached double-figures with 10 points.
F&M outshot Muhlenberg 60-33-percent, held a 37-26 edge on the boards and converted 15 steals into 36 points.
The Diplomats return to action on Thursday when F&M hosts Washington at 8:00 p.m.
