Spring Break Trip | Winter Haven, Fla.
Spring break starts off with a slate of three doubleheaders in four days as Franklin & Marshall embarks on a 10-contest week. Sunday features two different challenges, both of which will be first-time opponents in Rochester Institute and New Jersey City.
The doubleheaders continue the following day against Juniata College, a spring break rival from 2013 and 2014. The Diplomats are enjoying a three-game winning streak, outscoring the Eagles by 18 runs across two games in 2014. After a day off, F&M takes the field for two games against Keene St. on Wednesday for the first matchup in series history.
Keystone College, who is ranked No. 14 in the nation, is up next, an adversary who the Diplomats have only seen once before. The Giants took that matchup 8-0 in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament. A doubleheader against Lesley on Saturday will represent the fourth matchup this break against a team F&M has never faced before.
Ending the trip is a contest against Ripon, a team from Wisconsin that the Diplomats have defeated four times in Florida since the series began two years ago.
The Diplomats improved to 3-0 on the year with a commanding 21-6 win over Gallaudet on Saturday. Tied at 4-4 heading into the sixth, F&M's offense erupted for four runs in the frame before blowing the game wide open with a six-run seventh and a seven-run ninth. Recap.
