LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Dan Marano was named to the 2018 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team, as well as the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team. The Diplomats' first baseman garnered the second All-Region distinction of his career after also landing on the ABCA Third Team in 2015.

Marano (Maple Shade, N.J. / Bishop Eustace) continues to add to his impressive list of offseason accolades, also being named the program's first Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Year since 2006 after leading all Conference batters with a .411 average, while his on-base percentage of .452 was good for fourth, and his 43 RBIs ranked second.

He also earned the second All-CC First Team honor of his career after Marano was named to the First Team and was selected as the Rookie of the Year in 2015. His 62 total hits were the third highest in program single-season history and the most since 2006.

Marano registered multiple hits in 16 contests and tied a CC single-game record with a 6-for-6 effort against Drew on April 19th. Marano was outstanding in the field as well with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, not committing an error in 295 total chances.

His list of awards in 2018 extended past the field as well when Marano was also named to the CoSIDA 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Team earlier in May.
