LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Mike Androconis was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Pitcher of the Week for baseball, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor is the first of Androconis' career and the first of the season for the Diplomats.
The sophomore right-hander went 2-0 last week, tossing 12 shutout innings, allowing only four hits and striking out 10. Androconis opened action with a five-inning performance on Tuesday in F&M's 4-1 win against Elizabethtown, holding the Blue Jays to just one hit.
In the nightcap of the Diplomats' doubleheader against Endicott in Winter Haven, Fla. on Sunday, Androconis twirled a complete-game seven-inning shutout, registering seven strikeouts and allowing only one hit.
The Diplomats split a doubleheader against William Patterson today, earning a 1-0 win in game one and falling 5-3 in the second. F&M continues its spring break schedule tomorrow with a 12:30 p.m. matchup against Ramapo.
