LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's baseball team offered its expertise to the Warwick Little League on Saturday, helping out with its evaluation day at the Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim.
The Diplomats were on hand to help gauge the skill level of each player in the league to ensure parity amongst the teams. Anyone interested in playing in the league (ages 8-13) was invited to participate.
F&M took the prospective players through its warm-up routine and offered instruction at four separate stations that were focused on pitching, hitting, infield and outfield defense. The league, which strives to provide a quality youth baseball program from t-ball to senior levels, is celebrating its 20th year anniversary this season.
"The members of the F&M baseball team along with coaches Ryan Horning and Nate Mulberg were invaluable in evaluating the skills of our players," said Jenn Buch, WLL Player Agent and Research Assistant at Shadek-Fackenthal Library. "You can see their love and knowledge of the game as well as their positive interactions with our young players."
The Diplomats open their season on Saturday, Feb. 28 with a 1:00 p.m. game against Rutgers-Newark at Caplan Field.
