LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Athletic Leadership Council (ALC) / Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held the 11th annual TeamWork event on Sunday in celebration of National Student-Athlete Day. F&M varsity teams, Greek organizations, and clubs all participated in an effort to beautify the local community.
More than 600 F&M student-athletes along with members of Greek clubs, and other students gathered to support the Lancaster City Alliance by sweeping the surrounding streets for litter and recyclable material, as well as local churches, parks, schools and cemeteries in the area. Together they also assisted neighbors with their spring yard cleanups.
President Daniel R. Porterfield, State Representative Mike Sturla and Dean of the College Margaret Hazlett and were also on hand to speak to the participants and direct them to their designated areas of clean up.
TeamWork was established by the ALC / SAAC in 2004 to celebrate F&M's community involvement, and continues to develop on an annual basis. The event has evolved into one of F&M's largest community outreach programs.
