WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Franklin & Marshall baseball split a Thursday double-header with Endicott. The Diplomats (6-5) fell 7-5 in the first game, but rallied for a 10-9 win in the nightcap.
Roberto Zapata's two RBI double in the third inning was the difference maker in the first game. Endicott's leftfielder went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored in the first game. F&M freshmen J.T. Triantos and Blue Wells, along with junior, Bill Murray, each had two hits apiece in the 7-5 loss. Triantos drove in a pair of runs. Murray hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
The Diplomats scored all 10 runs between the second and fourth innings in the second game. Russell Tischler provided F&M a game-winning three-run blast in the fifth. His touch of home plate was the decisive run. Tischler went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and a pair of runs scored. He drove in the first two F&M runs in the second. Murray, Triantos, Matt Will and Eric Bornstein each had a pair of hits in the win.
F&M returns to action against Washington & Jefferson and Sewanee on Friday.
