AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- Franklin & Marshall’s baseball team swept Greenville (Ill.) in a double-header with a 10-3 and a 9-0 win. The shutout in the nightcap was the Diplomats’ (5-4) first of the year.
Brendan McCreary combined with Justin Thacker and Michael Morgenstern for the seven-inning blanking of Greenville (1-9). McCreary struck out four batters without issuing a walk. He allowed seven hits in taking the win in his first start of the year.
Nick Rolnick went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. He drove in the decisive run in the first inning of the closer. He also had a triple. Bill Murray was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and runs driven in. John Dutton was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while John Brody went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Nick Markel got the win in the first game, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits through five innings. Eric Bornsetin was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Matt Will was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and as many RBIs.
The Diplomats are off on Wednesday, but return
to action for two against Endicott on Thursday morning.
