Franklin & Marshall College and the NCAA requires all of our varsity sports teams and the following 3 clubs (men’s rugby, women’s rugby, and ice hockey) to be cleared medically prior to any practice or competition. The following links will help show you the process you need to follow to be cleared. Please follow the instructions precisely; improperly completing the process could delay your clearance. If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Sports Medicine Office. The best way to contact us is via email especially during the summer. During the academic year, please feel free to call 717-358-4111.
Please click one of the following that best describes your situation:
1. Returning Varsity Student Athlete – These individuals have been cleared and participated on a NCAA varsity athletic team while attending Franklin & Marshall College. Transfer students do NOT qualify as a returning student-athlete as any physical done at another institution does not count here at F&M.
2. New Varsity Student Athlete – These individuals have never gone through the physical process (ie first-year student or transfer student or upperclassman that just decided to go out for a varsity team).
3. Returning Club Sport Athlete – These individuals have completed paperwork and participated on Men’s Rugby, Women’s Rugby, and/or Ice Hockey while attending Franklin & Marshall College. All other club sport teams at F&M do NOT need to go through this process.
4. New Club Sport Athlete - These individuals have never gone through the medical review process (ie first-year student or transfer student or upperclassman that just decided to go out for a club team). The club teams required to do this process are Men's Rugby, Women's Rugby, and Ice Hockey, all other club sport teams at F&M do NOT need to go through this process. If you previously competed on a varsity athletic team and were cleared for that team, please use the Returning Club Sport Athlete link.
