Five Teams Set to Compete in the 2019 Spring CC Playoffs

LANCASTER, Pa. – Five of Franklin & Marshall's Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament-eligible teams qualified for this week's Playoffs in their respective sports. 

Women's tennis (No. 4 seed) opens postseason play on Tuesday, hosting No. 5 seed Gettysburg at 4:00 p.m. Men's tennis plays on Wednesday as the Tournament's No. 5 seed and is set to travel to No. 4 Dickinson at 4:00 p.m. for the First Round matchup. Also on Wednesday, No. 1 seeded men's lacrosse hosts No. 4 Ursinus in the CC Semifinals for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.

Baseball enters the CC Postseason as the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 seed Haverford on Thursday to open the double-elimination tournament. Game time will be announced after tomorrow morning's conference call and will be made available on GoDiplomats.com

As the No. 1 seed, women's lacrosse begins its Playoffs on Saturday in the CC Semifinals at 12:00 p.m., taking on the winner of No. 4 Dickinson and No. 5 Haverford, who face off on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.


Men's Tennis Championship Information

For the 10th consecutive year, the Diplomats earned a place in the CC Playoffs. F&M is in search for its first CC Title and enters the Tournament as the No. 5 seed after compiling a 7-8, 5-4 CC record.

A conference championship gives the CC Title winner an automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Championships, contested in Kalamazoo, Mich., from May 20-26.

Women's Tennis Championship Information 

F&M garnered its sixth straight CC Playoff appearance after finishing the regular season with a 9-6, 7-3 CC record to claim the tournament's No. 4 seed.

The NCAA Championships will also take place at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich., from May 20-26.

Baseball Championship Information 

The Diplomats return to the Tournament for the second consecutive season and are in search of their first CC Title since the 2013 season. F&M enters play as the No. 2 seed after totaling a 26-13 overall record with a 12-6 mark in CC competition.

A Conference Title would award the Diplomats a place in the NCAA Regionals, which begin the third weekend in May.

Men's Lacrosse Championship Information 

After a dominant campaign, the Diplomats earned their fourth straight trip to the CC Tournament. F&M put together a 12-4, 7-1 CC mark in the regular season to earn the top seed and will host No. 4 Ursinus in Wednesday's Semifinal matchup. The highest remaining seed will serve as the host for Saturday's Championship game.

The Diplomats aim to defend their 2017 Title and reclaim the CC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, which opens with the First Round on Tuesday, May 7.

Women's Lacrosse Championship Information

For the second year in a row, F&M went unbeaten in CC action with a 9-0 CC mark, 14-3 overall, to earn the top seed in the CC Tournament. As a result, the Diplomats, who qualified for their 17th Centennial Playoffs in the last 18 seasons, will host both Semifinals on Saturday and the CC Championship on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

F&M is looking to earn its first CC crown since 2017 and garner the Conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, which begins with the First Round on Saturday, May 11.
