LANCASTER, Pa. - Ellie Jones was named the interim head coach of the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's rowing programs, announced by Director of Athletics and Recreation Patricia S.W. Epps.
Jones joined the program as an assistant coach for the men's team in 2017. She spent the fall of 2018 overseeing the complete operations of the Diplomats' men's and women's programs following the departure of former head coach Kendall Mulligan - who accepted the head coaching position of Georgetown University's women's rowing team in July. Jones was a four-year member of the St. Lawrence rowing team, graduating in 2016 as a geology major.
"Coach Jones has been doing an excellent job leading our rowing program throughout the fall season," said Epps. "Our student-athletes will benefit from her appointment as interim head coach as we head into the championship season of the Middle Atlantic Rowing Conference."
During her time at St. Lawrence, she served as the women's rowing program's representative on SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee). Before joining the F&M staff, Jones served as a coach at Westover School, helping to grow a relatively new program.
