Jordan Earns All-Regional Honors

Amy Jordan earned NCAA All-Regional honors finishing 28th at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regionals held at Leigh on Saturday. Jordan finished the 6k course in 23:00, placing 28th out of 311 runners. She was 1:21 behind champion Jenn Cronin from Lebanon Valley. (more)

Twenty-Seven Diplomats Named to Academic Honor Roll

Twenty-seven Diplomats have been named to the 2009 Centennial Conference (CC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least 50% of his or her team’s contests, be a sophomore or higher and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40. Diplomat Women Sixth in Centennial Championships

With two runners in the top 25, Franklin & Marshall’s women finished sixth among the ten competing teams at the 2009 Centennial Conference Championships. The finish is a three-spot jump in the standings from a year ago. (more)

Jordan Places Fifth

Amy Jordan placed fifth in the non-team scoring Franklin & Marshall Invite Saturday afternoon at Baker Campus. The meet featured runners from Lancaster Bible, Millersville and F&M. (more)

Diplomats Finished Fifth; Jordan and Wilson Top 20

Franklin & Marshall finished fifth at 2009 Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Friday afternoon. The Diplomats were led by Amy Jordan’s eighth place finish and Emily Wilson’s 14th place (23:18). Jordan covered the six-kilometer course in 23:03 crossing the line just under a minute behind meet champion Caitlin Dorgan (22:11) from Delaware Valley College. (more)

Diplomats Win York Invitational

Three Diplomats placed in the top ten as Franklin & Marshall won the York College Invitational Saturday afternoon. The invitational win marks the second in finish in the top two spots of three races run by F&M this season. Emily Wilson (19:49) lead the way with a second place finish. Wilson was 17 seconds behind Lindsay Wilson of McDaniel. Lindasy Wilson won the meet running the five kilometer in 19:49. (more)

Jordan and Wilson Finish in Top Ten

Amy Jordan took fourth place and Emily Wilson finished in ninth to lead Franklin & Marshall’s women’s cross country team at the 29th Annual Little Three meet. The Diplomats went 0-2 in head-to-head amongst the competing teams while Dickinson knocked off both F&M and Gettysburg to sweep the meet for the 16th consecutive season. (more)

Diplomats Win Silver; Place Two in Top Ten

The Franklin & Marshall’s women’s cross country placed second in the Delaware College Invitational Saturday. The Diplomats were one point shy of winner of West Chester University in the 15 team race. (more)

2009 Preview

It has been nearly a quarter of a century since Franklin & Marshall’s cross country team sat alone atop of the Division III world. The 1985 harriers captured the NCAA’s mahogany and gold, and two seasons have gone by since the last Diplomat ran a race at the NCAA’s National Championship meet. In all likelihood, the 2009 Diplomats will not be hoisting Centennial or NCAA trophies, but the journey back starts with the first step. (more)

Franklin & Marshall's Director of Athletics and Recreation, Patricia S.W. Epps, announced the hiring of John D. Stoudt of Lancaster as the College's Cross Country Coach. Stoudt is intimately familiar with the local running scene. He served as the Head Cross Country Coach at Lancaster Catholic from 2001 through 2005, and as the Head Track & Field Coach at Lancaster Catholic from 2004 through 2006. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Conestoga Valley for several seasons.
