TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Sheena Crawley earned All-America honors with a 13th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson course Saturday afternoon.
Crawely was in 15th place through the first mile and fell back a few spots in the middle of the race. She went into another gear down the final stretch to pass several runners and finished the 6k course in 21:30.2.
The honor is the second All-America award for the senior in cross country and the sixth overall, with four in track & field.
Crawley joins Denise Paul and Lois Lucente as the third Diplomat to be named an All-Americans twice. Paul earned three honors from 1981-1983 and Lucente took two in 1984 and 1985.
Christy Cazzola from Wisconsin-Oshkosh took first in the field of 277 runners at 20:53 while Johns Hopkins won the team title.
