NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Sheena Crawley placed second at the National Indoor Track & Field Championship meet on Saturday. She finished the mile in a school-record time of 4:49.45.
Christy Cazzola from Wisconsin-Oshkosh took the top spot in 4:48.11.Crawley led the field of 10 runners for majority of the race before Cazzola caught up with a few laps to go and Cazzola finished strong when the bell sounded for the final lap.
Crawley placed fifth in the mile last year at 4:55.91 and finished with a time of 5:03.91 in 2011, which was good for 11th.
The senior earned her fifth All-America honor in track & field, second in indoor competition, which is the most in F&M history. She has set four school records with three conference marks in indoor action.
