F&M Upends the Bears in CC Opener

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall made short work of Ursinus on Saturday, opening Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis competition with an 8-1 thrashing of the Bears. 

The road victory improved the Diplomats to 3-3, 1-0 CC while Ursinus fell to 5-3, 0-1 CC. 

By the Numbers

F&M outscored the Bears by a 24-9 margin with a clean 3-0 sweep in doubles action. The Diplomats rolled in singles play as well, after not dropping a set during their five wins. Emma Wu was dominant at No. 4 with a decisive 8-1 win. 

Wu, Allison Wolters (No. 1) and Alex D'Angelo (No. 6) each won their third-consecutive singles contest. 

Saturday's victory over the Bears marked F&M's sixth straight in the series, dating back to 2011, and improved the Diplomats' overall record to 38-6 against Ursinus.
