LANCASTER, Pa. - Four Franklin & Marshall women's tennis players have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team announced by the league office on Friday. Emily Gruenberg earned second team singles recognition, Anya Sahaydachny and Megan FitzMaurice nabbed second team doubles honors, while Julia Fiala landed on the honorable mention singles team.
The All-CC recognition marks the first postseason all-conference honors for each of the four F&M players.
Gruenberg (Warren, N.J./Morristown Beard School) makes her way onto the singles second team following a breakout freshman campaign. Playing primarily No. 5 singles, Gruenberg posted a 12-7 mark on the year, including a 6-4 record in CC.
Sahaydachny (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly) and FitzMaruice (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) landed on the doubles second team after holding down the No. 1 doubles spot for F&M all season long. The duo tallied an 8-7 overall record with a 5-5 mark in the CC.
Fiala (Rye, N.Y./Rye) earned honorable mention singles accolades after a superb season at the No. 3 spot for the Diplomats. The senior was a steady force in the middle of the lineup, posting a 12-5 record and a stellar 7-2 mark in CC competition.
The Diplomats concluded the year at 8-8, 5-5 CC, falling just shy of a berth in the conference playoffs.
