GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Gettysburg's women's swim team mirrored the accomplishment of Franklin & Marshall's men, marching through the Centennial Conference portion of their slate without a blemish on their record. The Bullets (10) went to 7-0 in the Centennial with a 139-66 win over the Diplomats (6-6, 4-3 CC).
Gettysburg swept the first five races and limited F&M to three victories on the afternoon. Keira Heath won three races for Gettysburg, including the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:40.75, some 32 seconds ahead of the nearest swimmer. Heath also posted wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.65) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.02).
Franklin & Marshall's wins came from Laura Bassford, Brittany McCabe, and Cydney Eldh. Bassford won the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.32), while McCabe edged out Demery Close by .57 seconds in the 200-yard backstroke. McCabe clocked a 2:12.86. Eldh won the 200-yard breaststroke by nearly two seconds clocking a 2:32.55.
The Diplomats are idle until February 22, when F&M hosts the Centennial Conference Championships.
