LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team advanced thirteen swimmers from this morning's preliminaries into tonight's day two final at the F&M Invitational.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Jillian Albus touched first with a time of 24.67, while Rebecca Daen placed fourth at 25.06 and Leeza Rojas (25.97) finished seventh. Albus and Courtney Collins qualified for tonight's 100-yard butterfly final as Albus finished seventh with a time of 1:01.20, and Collins placed eighth at 1:01.89.
Collins touched third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.71, while Taylor Mateja placed sixth at 1:03.12. Maggie Johns touched the wall first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:45.04 while Caitlyn Fuller (4:55.07) and Charlotte Katter (4:59.54) finished in the top-10, placing sixth and seventh respectively.
Katherine Grant earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.75. Daen (1:58.85) finished in sixth-place, while Rojas (2:00.96) placed ninth.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Fuller placed eighth and advanced with a time of 2:39.30, and Jane Posner touched ninth and earned a spot in the final with a time of 2:39.47. Mary Ann Robison rounded out the top-10 for the Diplomats and clocked in at 2:40.42.
Collins, Fuller, Albus, and Daen led the Diplomats to a sixth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay at 4:11.81. The event was the only time final of the morning.
Day two finals will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m., where champions will be crowned in the 50 freestyle, 400 individual medley, 100 fly, 200 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 800 freestyle relay.
