LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team kicked off session one of the 2013 Centennial Conference (CC) Championships by advancing five swimmers from three separate events into tonight's final.
F&M placed three swimmers into tonight's 500-yard freestyle final with Katherine Grant finishing with the third-fastest time of the session at 5:09.38. Maggie Johns was next with a sixth-place finish and a time of 5:11.43, followed by Alexia Tomlinson in seventh at 5:14.36.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Courtney Collins advanced for the Diplomats, touching the wall with the seventh-fastest time at 2:13.92. Caitlyn Fuller narrowly missed a spot in the finals, finishing less than a second behind the eighth-fastest swimmer in the session. Fuller had to settle for ninth with a time of 2:15.15.
Krista Hollingsworth earned a spot in the 50-yard freestyle as she finished at 24.98, which was sixth-fastest in the session.
The finals will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m., where champions will be crowned in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and the 400-yard medley relay.
