12 Diplomats Reach Final Round

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall put itself in a great position to catch Gettysburg by advancing 12 swimmers from Sunday's preliminaries to the finals.  Seven swimmers made the championship round while five reached the consolation finals for the Diplomats who trail Gettysburg 474-454 in the team race.

Krista Hollingsworth was third in the 200 back with a 2:13.61 and Kasey Christiansen 13th with a 2:17.95. Ana Franzluebbers took sixth in the 100 free with a 54.70 while Rebbeca Daen and Jackie Behr finished 11th and 15th.

Katherine DeCrosta tied for third in the 200 breaststroke touching at 2:29.85. She was even with McDaniel's Rachel Walega. Lili Shainis was fifth with a 2:30.81 and Rebecca Citti seventh with a 2:33.02. Emily Zacherl (2:14.35) and Laura Bassford (2:15.58)  finished third and fifth in the 200 butterfly for F&M. Stephanie Brooks was 10th and Courtney Gregor 16th.
The final session begins tonight at 6 p.m. with the 1,650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay.
