Women’s Squash Rolls Past No. 10 Drexel

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's No. 14 women's squash team was impressive in its season opener, blanking No. 10 Drexel by a 9-0 score on Tuesday evening in Lancaster.

The Diplomats are now 1-0 on the year while the Dragons fell to 0-1.

By the Numbers

F&M earned sweeps in four of the matchups, including a 3-0 win (11-4, 11-2, 11-1) from freshman Clare Tompkins at No. 9; the first of her career. Freshman Katherine Galambos (No. 7) also won her first-ever match by downing her opponent in four games (11-9, 11-6, 5-11, 11-5).

Picking up a shutout this early in the season marks a great start for F&M, who held just two opponents scoreless through all of 2015-16. In last season's opener, Drexel came away with a 5-4 win, while today's Diplomat victory evened the all-time series at 3-3.
