Diplomats' Streak Snapped

ITHACA, N.Y. - Franklin & Marshall saw its five-match winning streak come to an end in a 9-0 loss to host Cornell on Friday night in women's squash action. The 17th-ranked Diplomats are now 8-8 on the year, while the seventh-ranked Big Red have now secured four consecutive shutout victories and improve to 9-3.

Roxanna Mead provided the closest match of the night for F&M at the No. 2 position. Mead jumped out of the gates with a 12-10 triumph in game one, before Cornell's Jaime Laird responded with 11-3 and 11-8 wins in the ensuing two games. Mead stretched the match to a fifth and deciding game by outlasting Laird 11-9 in game four, but fell short in the final game, 11-5.

At No. 4, Chelsea Ross opened with an 11-9 game one win over Margaret Remsen, but Remsen proceeded to win three straight (11-3, 11-6, 11-5) to secure the victory.
