Women’s Squash Ranked 23rd by CSA

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s women’s squash team will enter the 2009-2010 season ranked 23rd in the nation according to the College Squash Association (CSA).  The CSA released its preseason poll on Monday afternoon.

The top eight teams remained unchanged from last season’s final rankings. Princeton, the three-time defending national champion, is looking to earn another team championship; however, Harvard and Trinity, who did not graduate varsity players last season, are looking to dethrone the Tigers.

Six schools improved in the rankings from last season: Dartmouth, Bates, Hamilton, Vassar, Colby, and Northeastern.  The following schools dropped spots in the rankings: Brown, Bowdoin, Tufts, Columbia, Franklin & Marshall, and William Smith.

Seniors Courtney Mulligan and Dana Russo will captain the nine returning players.  In addition, first-year students Chelsea Ross and Katherine Bares will be joining the Diplomats.
